Sweet Summer Strawberries...

Ah. Sweet Summertime is here. This week marks the official beginning of Summer, & I have never been more ready, how about you (I could do without this heat wave, however!)? A few weeks ago, a couple of friends & I went strawberry picking at Linvilla Orchards Farm outside of Philadelphia. This is something I've always wanted to do, & we picked the perfect day to go! The tractor brought us to the strawberry patches (with the peach trees nearby...I sense a second trip someday this summer!), & once we were dropped off to begin picking, I think we spent more time taking photos of our pickings (& eating them) than actually picking. Hey, it happens when artists go strawberry picking. & Strawberries are quite the photogenic fruit.
It was the perfect little adventure to top off this 2012 Summer season, & if this isn't something you've yet to experience, you need to go! Just think of all the recipes that you could create with your pickings. There isn't a fresher strawberry than one you pick yourself. & with good company, it is the best time.
