I was lucky enough to illustrate a map for one of my best friend's as her Christmas gift--her sister came to me with the idea. Every year, her family travels to Outer Banks, North Carolina to enjoy some fun in the sun, & visit familiar, traditional spots. Almost 3 years ago, she was married here on the very beach her family vacations (a beautiful wedding, at that!), & I was lucky enough to be a part of it. So to say illustrating this map was particularly special is an understatement. I'd give anything to just revisit laying on the beach, getting tan, playing with the dead crabs & starfish lying near the shore (long story), & preparing for a very memorable day!
